Tripoli sits in the Arcadian uplands in the peninsula’s centre and is the seat of the Peloponnese regional authority. It sits at a junction on the A7 and hosts the regional university headquarters, the administration, and a health centre. It is neither the region’s largest city nor its economic centre. Five regional units make it up: Arcadia, the Argolid, Corinthia, Laconia, and Messenia; industry, ports, and export farming sit elsewhere. Corinth handles manufacturing and distribution, Kalamata and Sparta handle olive oil, Nafplio handles citrus, and Gytheio serves as the port for ferries to Kythira and Crete.
Two mapmistakes cost employers here more than anything else. Achaea and Elis lie on the Peloponnese peninsula and belong to the Western Greece region rather than to this one, so a candidate filtering by region misses a Pyrgos vacancy altogether, and the employer there answers to a different elected authority. Part of the Argolid peninsula is in Attica, so a southern address does not predict the authority either. Beyond that, the deconcentrated state administration for this region is in Patras. In contrast, the elected region is in Tripoli, so licences, permissions, and inspections are not all handled in one town. Settle the unit and the authority before writing the post, because the two do not always sit in the same place.
Contract length is the first place where an employer reading only the official register will go wrong. The invitation route and the highly qualified route each need a lawful contract of at least six months, while the register still carries the longer, superseded figure in two separate places. Doubling the required term is an avoidable cost.
Enforcement sits with an independent labour inspection authority, a different body from the one that grants the permit and the one that collects contributions. That separation matters: a hire approved by the migration ministry can still be found non-compliant later, on the floor. No part of that chain pre-clears an individual vacancy before the event.
Work the order backwards from the outcome worth avoiding. If an occupation is absent from the act, or its positions are gone, then the contract, the income evidence and the candidate search were all effort spent on a filing that cannot be examined. The reading therefore comes first, and it costs almost nothing beyond what follows.
Two applications, two applicants, and we support both. The employer requests approval to employ, and the worker applies for the permit after arrival. Preparing the worker for the consular appointment, which must be attended in person, belongs in the same piece of work, because a missed step there stalls everything behind it.
Nothing in the procedure depends on which part of the country a post sits in, with one exception: which office receives the file depends on where the employer is seated or where the work is done; for a hire into Tripoli; , that is a filing question, not an eligibility one.
The work sits in four separate economies with different commutes, seasons, and competitors for the same candidate, so no single catchment answers a regional advertisement.
Inland and mountain Arcadia and Laconia hold the thinnest resident working-age pool in the region, so a post advertised there asks a candidate to move house, not to drive further.
Corinthia is pulled into the capital’s orbit, giving it a deep candidate pool and pitting local employers against Attica employers for the same people.
Harvest labour in all five units comes from outside the local area, so accommodation, transport to the grove or packhouse, and the length of the engagement determine hiring.
Packhouse and grading line supervisors are short exactly when the fruit arrives, and a line without a lead runs at the speed of its slowest bench rather than its rated speed.
Refrigeration and cold chain technicians are chased at once by packhouses, dairies, ande hotels, so one trainedtechnician hass three offers in the same week.
No single city here has a full university, and an engineering graduate of the regional university studied in Patras, in another region, and may have no connection to this one.
Sourcing begins with the duties, in writing. From those, we settle which occupation the post belongs to, and only then does it make sense to ask where people who do that work can be found. Doing it the other way round produces a shortlist that cannot be filed against anything. A code settled late is a code settled twice, once wrongly.
Screening also tests the employer’s side of the file, which candidates never see. Whether the stated wage clears the floor, whether the income evidence the scheme requires can be produced for every hire rather than once, and whether the specialisation matches what the business actually does. The employer handles that part of the screening directly. A candidate cannot rescue a failure there.
The mutual recognition system for professional qualifications was built for qualifications earned inside the Union, and that is its trap. A third-country national holding a Union qualification can generally use the system. A Union national holding a third-country qualification generally cannot. Nationality and the origin of the certificate are separate facts, and both matter. Both have to be established separately.
Shipping has its own working languages, and they aren't optional on board. Where a post sits in that sector, the language requirement is operational and should be written into the specification in exactly those terms. Elsewhere, borrowing the shipping standard because it sounds rigorous shrinks the available field for no gain. The requirement has to earn its place in every specification.
Where the answer is no, the sequence stops there, and the employer hears it the same day. An occupation outside the act, a licence that cannot be exchanged, a qualification with no traceable route to practice: each of those is a reason to stop and reconsider rather than to proceed carefully and hope. Hope is not a step in any procedure.
For the rest of this page, we're focused on Tripoli. Each industry section is built the same way: the roles first, then what the work actually involves, then the one constraint that decides whether the post actually gets filled, and then whether it stays filled.
Growers recruit olive pickers, harvest supervisors, tractor drivers, irrigation operatives, agronomists, table olive curing hands, packing operatives and machinery mechanics across Messenia and Laconia.
Messenia and Laconia are the two oil units, both built on the Koroneiki variety, with Kalamataas the table olive centre and mill visits running as a visitor product alongside the tradf.
Picking opens between October and November, depending on grove and variety, and table fruit still comes off in March, so give a window and its variance, not dates.
The skill sits in the implement rather than the tractor: hitching, power take-off work, setting depth, turning on a headland without tearing ground. Ask which implements an applicant has set up alone, and whether they did the daily greasings.
Mills take on press operators, decanter and centrifuge hands, oil graders, bottling and labelling operatives, filtration technicians, laboratory analysts, tank farm hands and dispatch clerks.
Mill and bottling work follows the picking by days and then runs into spring, making it the one part of the olive economy that lasts more than a few weeks.
Mill operators and bottling plant technicians are the scarce grades, and a candidate who has run a press elsewhere converts faster than one trained from nothing, so target by machine.
Pest control depends on behaviour rather than contractors: keep doors shut, keep packaging off the floor, clear spillage, and report sightings in writing within the same hour. New starters have to hear that reporting one is expected, not embarrassing.
Packers engage citrus pickers, orchard hands, packhouse operatives, grading and sorting line operatives, quality control inspectors, forklift drivers, dispatch clerks and shift leads around the Argolid.
Oranges, clementines, lemons, and grapefruit grow on holdings along the Nafplio and Argos road, with artichokes and other vegetables beside them, and the packing capacity sits between the two towns.
Because the fruit needs time on the tree, pickers here work in the cold months, so state the hours, the start time and whether transport to the grove is provided.
Professional application of plant protection products is certificated work, and the certificate attaches to the person rather than the holding. Before any start date, confirm what an applicant holds and whether it is recognised here, because nobody mixes without it.
Operators recruit cold store operatives, forklift drivers, order pickers, dispatch clerks, transport planners, refrigeration technicians, stock controllers and loading bay supervisors behind the packhouses.
Packhouse and cold store shifts run a few weeks behind the field, so labour needs don’t stop when picking does, and you can’t advertise them as one job.
Cold store work is cold, and candidates who have only picked outdoors underestimate it, so describe the temperature, the shift length and the protective clothing in the post.
Picking is counted, and the expected rate is higher than most newcomers imagine, with accuracy counted beside it. State the target and the allowed build-up, because someone working at their own pace won’t pass review.
Estates recruit oenologists, cellar masters, tasting room hosts, vine pruners, grape pickers, cellar hands and seasonal harvest hands across the Nemea and Argolid appellations.
The Nemea appellation in Corinthia rests on the red Agiorgitiko, and itsvineyards are among the countthe country'sportanimportantthwhileolid Argolid has appeown appellationas limited visitor accommodation, so wine tourism staff are housed in Loutraki, in the Corinthian mountains, or in Nafplio, and travel has to be in the offer.
A peak is a curve and not a date. Plan the crew against the run of days at full picking, hold a reserve for the week everything ripens together, and tell applicants how notice of a start will reach them.
Plants hire production operatives, machine operators, maintenance fitters, industrial electricians, automation technicians, quality inspectors, production planners and shift managers in the Corinthian industrial area.
Corinthia barely feels like the Peloponnese. Its income comes from goods and services, manufacturing and trade, and the motorway to the capital has lowered the cost of moving freight out.
This is the region’s year-round volume recruiter, so lead with the permanent contract, which is the one thing a region of harvests cannot otherwise promise a candidate.
Maintenance is fault-finding against a stopped line, on a plant whose drawings were never updated. Ask about a breakdown where the obvious cause proved wrong, then state the standby and call-out arrangement in the posting rather than at offer stage.
Operators include van couriers, depot supervisors, heavy goods drivers, load planners, order pickers, warehouse operatives, and forklift drivers along the northern corridor.
Corinthia serves as an outer industrial and distribution area for the capital, with motorway and rail access, and harvest haulage peaks add to a base that runs year-round.
Corinthia is rail-commutable from the capital on the line along its coast, while the rest of the region is not, an asset worth stating because nobody assumes a train here.
Classification and valuation decisions carry liability for the business, not for the clerk who keyed them. Ask how an applicant handled a query, an amendment,t or an inspection, because the answer shows whether they have ever owned one.
Sites engage archaeological site attendants, museum assistants, qualified guides, site interpreters, coach drivers, ticketing staff, retail assistants and visitor services supervisors.
Mycenae, Tiryns, Epidaurus, Argos and Nafplio in the Argolid, ancient Corinth and Acrocorinth, Mystras near Sparta and Monemvasia in Laconia make this a cultural rather than a beach region.
Qualified guides and interpreters are scarce, the season stretches into spring and autumn rather than closing in September, and Nafplio trades year-round.
Any post handling a float needs its reconciliation written down: who counts, who witnesses, what happens when a till falls short. Shortfalls happen, and an unwritten rule about them turns each one into an accusation.
Hotels recruit spa therapists, housekeepers, receptionists, pool technicians, gardeners, hotel maintenance technicians, waiting staff and bartenders on the Messenian coast and at Loutraki.
Coastal trade runs roughly May to September, shorter than on the islands, because much of it serves domestic and weekend visitors from the capital rather than inbound charter traffic.
Supervisors willing to take a short contract are the hardest grade to fill, so pair the summer with an autumn harvest or a winter packhouse engagement and say so in the advertisement.
Closing is a fortnight of work after the last guest leaves: deep cleaning, inventories, draining down and storing. Name the closing crew in advance, because the people needed then are exactly the ones already arranging to leave.
Ports hire report clerks, ferry deckhands, ticketing agents, mooring hands, cargo operatives, crane drivers, fishing harbour hands, a nd terminal duty officers.
Kalamata, Nafplio, and Corinth serve as commercial and fishing harbours; Gytheio runs the Kythira ferry almost daily and a Crete sailing twice a week; and the Corinth Canal is a transit waterway.
A Laconian employer working on Kythira deals with two regions at once, because the island is reached from Gytheio but administered from Attica.
Every machine on a terminal is driven under a site authorisation granted after an assessment here, regardless of what an applicant holds elsewhere. Build that assessment into the start date, and keep a visible record of who is signed off on what.
Contractors engage civil works operatives, plant and earthmoving operators, surveyors, environmental monitoring technicians, electrical fitters, welders, site engineers and safety officers at Megalopoli.
Megalopoli in Arcadia is a designated transition territory alongside the Western Macedonian area, and it falls under a different funding instrument than the rest of the region.
That instrument matters to anyone applying for employment or training subsidy, and the work arrives as discrete packages, so describe it as project work rather than as a standing establishment.
Electrical authority comes in grades, and switching, testing and work near live apparatus each need a named permission assessed locally. Supervised working comes first, so build the rota on the assumption that a new starter holds no authority yet.
The region also recruits dairy intake operatives, cheese production operatives and charcuterie hands across all five units; beekeepers for the honey and confectionery trade; raisin drying and grading hands in Corinthia; and nurses, care assistants and administrative officers for the hospitals and offices at Tripoli, Kalamata, Corinth, Sparta and Nafplio.
Absence from the list above says nothing at all about whether a hire is possible. It only means wehaven’tt written a section on it yet. The questions that decide are the same for an occupation we have covered and one we have not.
Coding is also how a rota is planned. Twenty people across four codes is four separate questions about room, not one, and the answers can differ. Working that out early is the only thing that stops an intake stalling halfway through the season.
Evidence beats assertion in that forum, because the statutory factors are evidential ones: labour supply already present, unemployment, and how many invitations were requested and completed over the previous two years. An estimate that engages with those reads differently from one that does not.
Running a hire into Tripoli means doing several unglamorous things in the right order and on time, and the list below covers them. None of it involves influencing a decision, because no such influence exists anywhere.
If the answer is that the hire is possible, we say on what route and under what conditions. If the hire is not possible now, we say so, with the reason and the point in the annual cycle at which the position could change. Either answer comes early.
Nothing goes in on the basis that a missing item can follow later. If the authority has to ask for a supplementary document, the decision period is suspended while it waits, and the file sits. Avoiding that request is worth more than lodging a fortnight earlier.
An inspector can arrive unannounced, and the questions are documentary. We retain the signed contract and produce it on request. The hire declaration is dated before the start. The hours record matches the rota. None of that can be assembled afterwards with any credibility.
Our work is confined to preparation, submission, follow-up, and correction, and we describe it that way deliberately rather than loosely. We do not undertake approval, a decision, a start date, or a position within the occupational ceiling, because none of those things is ours to give.
On seasonal routes, the employer stage is quick, and the rest of the order is unchanged—approval, transmission to the consular authority, personal attendance, entry, then the permit. The accommodation and return-cost undertakings belong to the employer stage and not to anything later in the sequence.
In exceptional cases, the authority may extend the period, and if it does so, it must justify the extension and notify the applicant. An employer planning against the headline figure should know the extension exists, because the extension is lawful and complex files attract it more often.
Legalisation and translation are the quiet cause. Each document has an issuing body with its own queue, and an attested signature needs an appointment that isn't always available in the week it is needed. None of that appears in any published period, and none of it is optional.
No market claims appear below because no one recruiting into Tripoli can check a market claim. Instead, it shows a short list of working practices, each with an opposite that is common in this field and costly to meet.
The difference is not effort but order. An employer can assemble every document on the list and still lose a quarter because they checked the occupational ceiling because they ignored the latest order; it is the hardest part to know in advance.
The clearest example on this set is the contract length for an invitation. The official register still says a year in two places. The amending law says six months. An employer following the register commits to twice what is required, so we name the discrepancy.
A plain no early is worth more than a hopeful maybe for a quarter. It leaves time to change the post, the pay, the timing, or the rroute, the four things that can be cchanged, rather than waiting on a decision that will not come.
Four rhythms run here,e and one is a winter rhythm, which is unusual and useful. Grapes come in at the end of summer and in early autumn. Olives follow from around October or November into February, with late table picking into March, and mill and bottling work behind them into spring. Citrus in the Argolid opens in late November and runs through the cold months, with packhouse and cold store shifts a few weeks behind the field. Coastal hotels work roughly May to September. An employer who can stitch two together offers most of a year rather than a few weeks, and almost nobody writes it into the advertisement. AtoZSerwisPlus does not run an office in Tripoli and says so plainly.
Talk to us first, before you commit to any contract for a post in Tripoli.
General information, not legal advice: the distinction matters in a field where the instrument has recently changed, and several published summaries have not caught up with it. Check any figure, condition or period against the official wording now applying, which overrides this page on every point. Nothing written here commits anybody to a decision, a processing period or an approval of any sort.
AtoZSerwisPlus works with employers in Tripoli on international recruitment, and is plain about which parts of the timetable nobody controls.
Tripoli holds the regional seat in the Arcadian uplands, while Kalamata is larger and sits on the coast in Messenia. A candidate searching for the regional capital ends up in the administrative town rather than the labour market that is hiring.
Pay must meet at least the statutory minimum for the work, and the business has to show from its tax position that the wages it has agreed are within its means. That condition applies per hire, not per employer.
It rewrote large parts of the Code and brought the recast European single permit directive into Greek law, which is where the single application and the single administrative act come from.It eased several employer conditions.
Because the labour market assessment is made once, centrally, for everyone, instead of being repeated at every hire. The ceiling is the mechanism that carries it, which is why no individual test sits beside it.
The latest act published in the Gazette, Series A, is in force, and its reference identifies it. If a summary elsewhere disagrees with that text, the Gazette decides, and the summary is simply outdated.
It is set as a single national figure for the category rather than divided occupation by occupation. That is how the acts have been drawn, and it is the one part of the structure the sources do not spell out in terms.
None. They play no role in setting the ceiling, holding positions, or deciding an application, and the act does not mention them. Their only appearance in this field is through driving licence administration.
Inadmissibility is not a finding about the employer, so there is nothing substantive to appeal. The realistic responses are the next act, a different route where the post genuinely fits one, or a different hire.
Only as preparation. Nobody outside the service can confirm that positions remain at the moment a file is decided, so any check, ours included, is a planning statement and not an assurance.
Yes, but collectively and once a year. The route is your chamber or employer association, which files an estimate covering only the occupations in its own field, rather than a submission from the business itself.
Into the annual act. The government carries out the assessment of supply, occupations, and application volumes before an act is made, which is why it is never repeated when a single employer applies.
Not those either. Agriculture and tourism have their own approval procedures and documents, and neither includes an advertisement or a search; the farm routeinstead adds a capacity certificate.
Because the labour market question is answered once a year rather than hire by hire, and its data is one of the inputs to that answer. Its influence is real, and it reaches an employer only through the ceiling.
The Argolid, and the useful part is the sequence rather than the crop. A hotel closing at the end of September can hand a worker to an orchard, and the orchard to a packhouse weeks later, so three employers between them cover a winter. Say which stage the post is.
No. Residence and labour market access sit in the same decision, and no second act authorising employment has to be obtained. An employer waiting for a document called a work permit is waiting for something the system does not issue.
That the first step is the employer’s and takes time, that they will be called to the consular post rather than applying from home, and that nothing they do can speed up approval.
In the amended Code itself rather than in a procedure summary. Where a published page and the Code disagree on the length, the Code governs, and that is the position to brief a client on.
That the published page they have read predates the amendment and that the minimum is now six months. Candidates are often reassured to see the article itself, so it is worth having the reference to hand.
Ninety days from a complete application, and thirty for an employer with recognition under the Code. Both periods run from completeness, so the only part an employer controls is how complete the file is when it goes in.
It does not, and that is the most expensive misreading on this route. The condition sits well above the general wage floor, because it is set as a multiple of average earnings rather than of the minimum.
The Immigration Code, as most recently amended, carries the figure in its provisions on highly qualified employment. Published procedure descriptions give validity as variable and never state a length, so the Code is the only reliable place to read it.
Yes, but only as a statuss, not a service. Where the employer holds recognised employer status under the Code, a decision on a highly qualified application is due within thirty days of a complete submission instead of ninety.
Not by itself. It is the step that makes the national visa possible, and the worker still has to be called in, enter, and hold the right document before working any shift.
It does, and this is the part employers miss. The land or livestock figure sets a ceiling on the headcount the holding can request, so test the desiredcrew size against it bbefore making y ofoffer
In the current act in force, where any reservation of positions appears. It is set annually, so a reservation in one act tells you nothing certain about the next.
The employer lodges the approval; the worker lodges the permit application afterwards. Two different applicants, two different stages, and neither can do the other’s part, sover between them must be plmust
It suspends it. If the office calls for another document, the period stops running while the employer responds, and a file that goes back and forth twice can take far longer than the headline figure suggests.
The motorway runs from Corinth south through Tripoli and Megalopoli to Kalamata, so those towns form one fast axis. Sparta, Nafplio, Gytheio and the Mani sit off it, and journeys that look short on a map are slow across the mountains.
Managers convert any figure into a date, so give them the sequence and the conditions, in writing, and no single number. The one sentence worth repeating is that the authority decides when, and that the decision runs from a complete file.
Yes, through the one-stop service, where a worker moves before the period ends, and the incoming employer files. Treat it as part of onboarding rather than an afterthought, because the TN inspector reads the record later.
It does not postpone the permit's expiry, and it does not oblige anyone to decide faster. It buys the right to have a late application examined against a charge, which is narrower than most employers assume.
A solemn declaration, in one of two forms: either that the worker is housed in suitable accommodation, covering ownership, possession, occupancy and suitability including health and safety, or that the worker has accommodation of his or her own that complies.
Describe the place rather than certify a standard. Record the rooms, facilities, number of occupants, and condition; keep that record with the file, and sign only what the record supports if someone asks later.
The consultation is compulsory, and the opinions are not. Each stagemusto be completed beforeae decision can be taken, which is why the timetable is worth following, but thetwo ministers settley thefigures with the Cabinet’s favourable opinion.
Yes. The worker carries a share in each branch, deducted from gross pay, and the employer carries its own on top, so the cost of a post and the worker’s take-home pay move on different figures. Both sides are published branch by branch.
That the limit is a parameter with an effective date, not a number typed into a formula, whoever maintains the payroll should know where it comes from and when it is reset, because the reset lands in the same period every cycle.
From the Labour Code, a recent presidential decree that includes working-time provisions in its own articles. Older material citing a different codification is pointing at numbering that no longer applies, even where the figure it gives is right.
Five on a five-day week and eight on a six-day week. Those are the widths of the band, not targets, and a pattern that uses them every week is a pattern running permanently above full-time.
Four hours in a day. A recent amending law raised that limit, so an employer working from older material will plan against a lower figure and either refuse hours it could lawfully use or misprice the ones it does.
Employers often read the annual ceiling as the only limit that costs money. The formalities carry a cost too, and an hour inside the ceiling but outside the procedure costs more than a properly recorded hour.
Ask first, then schedule. The hours above the normal week depend on the worker agreeing to them, and the employer, treating the roster as the agreement, relies on something it does not have.
They do not. Both lie on the Peloponnese peninsula, and belong to the Western Greece region, based int Patras. This is the most commonmost common filing error in this part of the country,, and it hides vacancies from candidates searching by region.
Rotas that close late and open early are the usual casualties, along with split shifts given a short turnaround. Both squeeze the gap the law requires to stay intact, and a peak week is when it happens.
The announcement of a new hire belongs before the worker’s first shift, not on the first payroll run. That timing rule is often missed by employers used to monthly reporting elsewhere.
The amounts are substantial, and the inspector sets them by instrument rather than by negotiation. You have to read the figure for each breach from the legislation that imposes it, which is where it can change.
We can assemble and lodge the immigration application, keep it moving, and tell an employer which questions the recognition route raises. We cannot obtain a recognition decision, and no part of our service depends on receiving one.
The professional step has its own statutory decision period, set out in the governing procedure, and it runs on its own clock rather than the employer’s. Read the current period from that procedure before a start date is discussed.
Where the post involves exercising the profession, the practice right is at issue; where it does not, the question is different. Deciding which of the two the post really is comes before any recruitment, and the job title does not decide it.
The sequence runs backwards for an employer in a hurry: arrival first, then the residence period, then the application, then the licence. A post that needs someone driving on the first day does not fit that order.
For a qualified post, the order is usually recognition first, then the route, then the contract, because the qualification question is the one that can fail outright. You can prepare the others while it is resolved.
