According to Dion Pllana, Global Travel Analyst, some of Europe’s most popular destinations could face delays or cancellations due to escalating strike actions.
Countries Affected by Air Traffic Strikes
- France: Confirmed air traffic control strikes are set for April 18–19 and April 25, affecting major airports including Paris Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Lyon, and Marseille.
- Italy: A nationwide 24-hour air traffic strike is planned for April 19, which will impact major hubs such as Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, and Venice.
- Spain: Industrial actions are expected to hit Madrid and Barcelona airports between April 20 and April 30, with delays likely during this period.
- Belgium: Unions have announced nationwide strikes on the 13th of every month, continuing until further notice, potentially disrupting flights and airport services.
- Germany: While not officially confirmed, there are increasing concerns about possible strike actions that could affect air traffic operations across major German airports in April.
