Zielona Góra is one of the two main cities of the Lubuskie (Lubusz) Voivodeship in western Poland, close to the German border. It is the seat of the regional self-government and a university city, and it sits on the S3 expressway corridor, which regional authorities describe as the voivodeship’s main north-south development axis. Agencies recruiting in Zielona Góra and the wider Lubuskie region will hear three features in almost every conversation about roles here.
First, the region’s economy faces west. The Marshal’s Office of Lubuskie describes Germany as by far the largest market for goods and services exported by the voivodeship’s firms. Export manufacturing, rather than large office centres, drives much of the demand for workers.
Second, the work is spread out. Regional investor information lists industrial land in Zielona Góra itself but also in Sulechów, Świebodzin, Szprotawa, Żagań, Gubin and other towns. A role “near Zielona Góra” may involve a long daily trip or a move to a smaller town.
Third, regional institutions are split between Zielona Góra and Gorzów Wielkopolski, and partners need to know which city handles what.
The Statistical Office in Zielona Góra publishes Lubuskie’s registered unemployment rate every month. AtoZ Serwis Plus has no office in Zielona Góra, lists no vacancies here, and nothing on this page implies a job order.
Where registered unemployment is higher, ask the employer early what they've done to recruit locally and why that hasn't filled the role. The answer helps you judge whether an order is stable or a short-term reaction that could disappear before candidates arrive.
Lubuskie is one of two Polish voivodeships with a divided capital. The arrangement matters in practice because the voivode’s office and the regional self-government sit in different cities.
Residence cases for third-country nationals, by contrast, go to the foreigners’ unit in Gorzów Wielkopolski, so a non-EU worker living in Zielona Góra should expect any fingerprint summons to name Gorzów and should follow each letter exactly. Work permit applications are accepted only electronically through praca.gov.pl, and the office states that it does not consider paper applications, so for permits the physical location matters less. The Lubuskie Voivode decides permits for employers whose registered seat is in the voivodeship.
The split also affects correspondence. Questions about a pending work permit go to the voivodeship office, which publishes contact details for work permit cases in its Public Information Bulletin. Questions about regional labour market data go to the WUP in Zielona Góra. For questions about investment land or regional economic programmes, contact the Marshal’s Office. Sending each question to the right body avoids delay and shows employers that a partner understands the region.
The Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Zielonej Górze, at ul. Batorego 126 A, serves both the city and Zielona Góra county, with branches at Plac Ratuszowy 8 in Sulechów and ul. Słowackiego 11 in Nowogród Bobrzański. Its website has a section for employers of foreigners. Because one office covers the city/county, an employer based in Sulechów deals with the same office as one based in the city. The competent office is the employer's registered seat (or a sole trader’s place of residence), not the workplace: a Zielona Góra company with a site in Świebodzin still uses this office, while a company based in Świebodzin or Nowa Sól uses its own county’s office.
The WojewóOfficerząd Pracy in Zielona Góra publishes monthly and annual labour market information for Lubuskie, including tables by county and municipality. Because conditions differ between towns, those county tables, rather than the regional headline rate, are the official source to read before agreeing volumes and timelines with an employer, and any figure cited should name its release.
Before relying on a work permit route, check the register for the county of the employer’s seat and the county where the work is done, since a starost may set a list of occupations for which permits may be refused. The minister responsible for labour publishes a register of such lists in the Public Information Bulletin.
The Marshal’s Office describes Lubuskie’s economy as centred on furniture and lamps, electrical machinery, vehicles and vehicle components, and plastics and wood products, with food processing, chemicals, and metallurgy also significant. Its smart specialisation strategy names metal and machinery, computer, electronic and electrical industries and the space sector under “innovative industry”, alongside a green economy theme that includes electromobility and recycling. These regional descriptions indicate which skills employers may request.
Welders, CNC operators, fitters and machine operators are typical roles in metal and machinery production. Screen with practical tests, ask which welding methods and certificates the employer accepts, and confirm whether drawings are in Polish. Precision matters more than speed in the first weeks.
Component plants run multi-shift assembly with quality checks. Look for line experience, good eyesight for small parts and reliability on rotating shifts. Ask the employer about induction length, quality targets and whether operators move between lines.
Furniture and lamp production combines skilled work (upholstery, finishing, CNC panel processing) with semi-skilled assembly and packing. Ask for machine types, output norms and whether dust or solvent exposure affects medical requirements.
Injection moulding and processing lines often run continuously. Candidates should understand heat, noise and protective equipment requirements. Ask whether setters and operators are separate roles and whether experience is required.
Hygiene discipline, cold environments and early starts are common. Many food-contact roles need a Polish sanitary-epidemiological certificate. Clarify who arranges medical checks and what language training is provided.
Regional investor material stresses Lubuskie’s road, rail and water transport networks and its border crossings. Where an employer recruits drivers or warehouse staff, check the qualification requirements carefully. Drivers need initial qualification and periodic training, confirmed by Code 95 or a driver qualification card, and forklift operators usually need a qualification recognised in Poland. Ask whether routes are domestic or international, because that changes the documents a third-country driver needs.
The city of Zielona Góra includes villages such as Nowy Kisielin, Stary Kisielin and Przylep, which it administers as sołectwa (village units) within its boundary. A workplace with one of those names may therefore be inside the city even though it looks rural on a map. Check the address against thecity’ss own list rather than guessing.
Beyond the city, the Marshal’s Office describes a north-south investment strip beside the S3 expressway, running from Gorzów Wielkopolski through Świebodzin municipality. Separately, it lists extensive investment land in Sulechów, Gubin, Żagań, Zielona Góra and Sulęcin (the last near the A2 motorway), states that Szprotawa municipality, which is not on the S3, has more than 200 hectares designated for investment, and names subzones of three special economic zones. A plant in any of those towns is “in Lubuskie”, “near Zielona Góra” at most, and partners should describe it accurately.
Inside the city, MZK, the municipal transport company, runs public transport and operates a bus network with a largely electric fleet. Check the timetable for the workplace stop against shift start and end times. Outside the city, ask the employer whether it runs staff transport, because regional bus and rail timetables may not match shifts.
Ask candidates directly: “The workplace is 40 minutes away by road. Do you expect to live near the plant or in Zielona Góra?” The answer shapes the accommodation plan and often decides whether the worker stays.
Weather and daylight matter too. Winter shifts that start before dawn in a small town with limited buses feel different from a city job, and candidates who haven't worked through a Central European winter should hear that plainly. Ask whether the employer provides winter work clothing for outdoor or unheated areas, and whether shift times change seasonally.
LLubuskie’scloseness to Germany creates a specific risk that partners should address openly. Candidates sometimes assume that a job in western Poland is a step towards work in Germany, and unscrupulous intermediaries exploit that idea. Be clear in every briefing:
Any offer that bundles a Polish permit with work across the border is a warning sign. We expect partners to refuse such arrangements and to tell us if they encounter them.
The border also affects retention. Some workers hear about higher wages across it and leave a Polish job expecting easy work in Germany, only to find they have no right to work there and have lost their Polish authorisation. Say so at the briefing stage, in the candidate’s own language.
AtoZ Serwis Plus cooperates with licensed recruitment agencies and overseas workforce suppliers. Each cooperation rests on a written agreement that sets out:
Commercial terms are set out in that agreement, not on this page. Partners must hold any licence their home country requires. Agencies operating in Poland must be entered in the KRAZ register, and Polish law bars agencies from charging people placed in work anyplacement feet, apart from narrowly defined costs that apply only to work abroad. A candidate for a job in Lubuskie must not pay for the job. Our general approach is on the Poland recruiter page.
Before any advertising, we work with partners to confirm:
Two checks are particular to this region. First, confirm where the employer has its registered seat, because that decides the voivode and the labour office, and check the occupation lists for both that county and the county of the workplace. Second, if the employer exports to Germany or has German parent companies, confirm that the employing entity is Polish and that all work takes place in Poland.
It also helps to ask the employer how long it expects to need the workers. Export manufacturers respond quickly to orders from abroad, and a production line opened for one contract may slow when that contract ends. A realistic contract length, written into the job order, lets partners brief candidates honestly about what happens after the first period of employment.
The route follows the candidate’s nationality, current status and the role:
Georgian, Colombian and Venezuelan citizens may not work during a visa-free stay. Anyone who had already started legal work before the restriction may continue on existing terms until that stay ends, and all three nationalities can still be employed through the normal routes with an appropriate visa or residence permit. Visas issued for tourism, visits to family or friends, certain education or training, medical treatment, temporary protection or other purposes do not allow work under a permit or declaration, except an other-purposes visa issued to a Karta Polaka holder on that basis, and a Schengen visa from another state never allows work in Poland. Apply for national visas at Polish consulates through e-Konsulat; availability differs by consulate, and no one can promise an appointment. Residence applications go through the MOS portal, followed by fingerprinting at the voivodeship office in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
The Statistical Office in Zielona Góra also publishes the average wage for Lubuskie. Treat it as context only: it covers many occupations and does not predict pay for a particular production role in a small town. Use the employer’s written gross rate. It must not fall below the national minimum wage, nor below what comparable employees receive. A Council of Ministers regulation sets the minimum, revised every year and effective from 1 January, with a monthly amount for employment contracts and an hourly rate for certain civil-law contracts; the current figures are on the government’s minimum wage page.
The working-time norm is 8 hours a day and, on average, 40 hours a week across the settlement period. Overtime beyond the norm is allowed, with a supplement for every overtime hour. The Labour Code limits deductions and usually require the worker’s written consent, so agree on and explain any housing or transport charge before travel, with a realistic net estimate. The contract must be in writing and signed before work starts. Before the worker starts, the employer submits a copy in Polish through praca.gov.pl, while the worker gets a version in a language they understand.
Ask the employer who arranges accommodation, where it is, what it costs and who signs the agreement. In regions where jobs are in smaller towns, housing near the plant may be limited, ,and a city room may mean a long commute. Never call housing free unless the employer confirms it in writing.
Collect candidate documents in stages: a CV and contact details first, then passport copies, certificates and references once a candidate is shortlisted for a verified order. Agree GDPR roles in writing and avoid sensitive data unless the law requires it for the role.
Interviews should mirror the work: a welding coupon or measuring task for metalwork, a dexterity test for assembly, a short practical for furniture finishing. Score consistently and share results in a standard format.
Language deserves a specific question. Many plants in smaller Lubuskie towns operate mainly in Polish on the shop floor, with few English speakers among supervisors. Ask the employer whether it provides interpreters, written instructions in other languages or a bilingual team leader, and tell candidates what to expect.
Hypothetical example: a furniture manufacturer in a town about 30 km from Zielona Góra asks for upholsterers. Before confirming, the partner asks where the workers will live. The employer has rooms in the town, not in Zielona Góra, and no evening transport. The partner tells candidates plainly that the job means living in a small town, and one candidate who wanted city life withdraws early instead of resigning after arrival.
Each worker should travel with the correct visa or residence document, the work authorisation where needed, the signed contract or final draft, the workplace and housing addresses and a contact person.
Post-arrival reporting depends on the route. A declaration requires the employer to tell the county labour office, through praca.gov.pl, that work started (within 7 days of the first day) or did not start (within 14 days), and that the worker will not start or stopped before the declared end date, which invalidates the entry. A work permit has no start report; instead, the employer informs the voivode within 7 days if the worker does not take up work within the statutory period, interrupts it for a long period or ends it early. Under the notification route, theemployer lodges the notificationd within 7 days of the start. Partners should report arrivals and withdrawals promptly.
Workers can raise concerns with the State Labour Inspection, whose district inspectorate for Lubuskie is at ul. Dekoracyjna 8 in Zielona Góra, with a branch in Gorzów Wielkopolski, and with the Zielona Linia helpline on legal employment of foreigners. Give these contacts in writing, together with the agreed internal complaints route. In the first month, a short check-in with each worker on pay, hours, transport and housing usually reveals problems while they are still small. Record what was raised and what was done so the employer, the partner, and AtoZ Serwis Plus share the same picture. Stop and report if anyone asks candidates to pay for a job or a visa slot, if a job order has no real workplace, if earnings are promised only through overtime or if work in Germany is offered on a Polish permit.
If your agency places welders, machine operators, assembly staff or furniture workers and can brief candidates honestly about life in smaller towns, we would like to hear from you. Please tell us where you recruit, how you are licensed and which roles you know best. Register as a recruiter partner, and we will reply with the questions that come before any Lubuskie job order.
Register your agency and tell us which roles and countries you work with. We will set out the verification steps that apply before any Lubuskie job order is discussed.
No. AtoZ Serwis Plus has no office in Zielona Góra; this page lists no vacancies, which suggests no open positions. Cooperation on roles across Lubuskie is organised remotely under a written agreement, and sourcing starts only once a specific employer and order have been verified.
If its registered seat is in Lubuskie, yes: a type A permit comes from the Lubuskie Voivode, whose office is in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Filing is electronic through praca.gov.pl, so nobody travels there for it. A company seated elsewhere, in Poznań for example, applies to its own voivode, here the Wielkopolskie Voivode, even for a Zielona Góra site.
Lubuskie divides regional functions. The Lubuskie Voivode and the main voivodeship office are in Gorzów Wielkopolski, while the Sejmik and theMarshal’ss Office are in Zielona Góra. The voivode handles work permits for Lubuskie-based employers and residence matters; the marshal handles regional development.
Ask the employer before sourcing. Some plants rely on Polish with few English-speaking supervisors, while others offer interpreters, translated instructions or a bilingual team leader. Tell candidates what to expect, and recommend basic Polish without making it a condition the employer has not set.
The branch at ul. Podgórna 7 handles residence registration for EU citizens living in the area. Residence cases for third-country nationals belong to the foreigners’ unit at ul. Jagiellończyka 8 in Gorzów Wielkopolski, so a non-EU worker in Zielona Góra should expect any summons to name Gorzów and should follow it exactly.
Directly, before sourcing. Export manufacturers react to orders from abroad, and a line opened for one contract may slow when it ends. Ask how long the employer expects to need the workers, include a realistic contract length in the job order, and honestly brief candidates on what may follow.
The Urząd Marszałkowski Województwa Lubuskiego is located at ul. Podgórna 7 in Zielona Góra, and the Sejmik also sits in the city. The office handles regional development, EU funds and investor and exporter support. It does not issue work or residence permits.
The Wojewódzki Urząd Pracy has its main office at ul. Wyspiańskiego 15 in Zielona Góra and a branch at ul. Kombatantów 34 in Gorzów Wielkopolski. It shapes regional labour market policy. It does not issue permits or register declarations, which belong to the Lubuskie Voivode and the county labour offices.
The Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Zielonej Górze at ul. Batorego 126A serves both the city and Zielona Góra county, with branches in Sulechów and Nowogród Bobrzański, and its website has a section on employing foreigners. It handles declarations and seasonal permits, filed through praca.gov.pl, for employers based in the city or county, even when their site is elsewhere.
Only if the contract and the work authorisation cover that workplace and the worker agrees. A job order that shifts staff between Zielona Góra, Nowa Sól or Świebodzin without explanation is a reason to pause. Ask the employer to list every workplace in writing, because housing and commuting depend on it.
Yes. The city’s website lists Nowy Kisielin, Stary Kisielin and Przylep among the villages it administers as sołectwa within its boundary. A workplace there can be inside the city boundary even though it looks rural. Check each address against the city’s list.
The Marshal’s Office highlights furniture and lamps, electrical machinery, vehicles and components, plastics and wood products, with food processing, chemicals and metallurgy also significant. Screening plans for the region usually start from these sectors.
Very. The Marshal’s Office describes Germany as by far the largest market for goods and services exported by Lubuskie firms. Export manufacturing, rather than large office centres, drives much of the demand for production workers around Zielona Góra.
Not on Polish documents. A Polish work permit, national visa or residence permit does not allow work in Germany or any other EU country. Work in Germany requires separate authorisation under German law. Offers combining the two are a warning sign.
The Marshal’s Office describes an investment strip beside the S3 expressway running north to south from Gorzów Wielkopolski through Świebodzin municipality. Separately, it lists extensive land in Sulęcin, near the A2 motorway, and in Sulechów, Gubin, Zielona Góra and Żagań, plus a large reserve in Szprotawa, which is not on the S3. Many jobs therefore sit outside the city.
The regional authorities describe the S3 expressway asLubuskie’ss main north-south development axis. Plants along it may be some distance from Zielona Góra. Partners should plan housing near the workplace or confirm reliable transport for each shift.
MZK, the municipal transport company, runs the city’s buses with a largely electric fleet. Check the timetable for the stop nearest the workplace against shift times, especially early starts and late finishes. For a site outside the city, check regional connections separately rather than assuming a city route reaches it.
Practice depends on the employer. Ask whether it runs shuttles, when and from where, and whether there is a charge. Put the answer in the job order. Regional public transport may not match shift changes at plants in smaller towns.
Lubuskie’s smart specialisations are health and quality of life, green economy and innovative industry. The innovative industry strand names metal and machinery, computer, electronic and electrical industries and the space sector. It shows where the region is directing support.
Use practical tests such as welding coupons or measuring tasks, check certificates against what the employer accepts, and confirm whether technical drawings are in Polish. Ask about welding methods and quality standards before shortlisting.
A mix of skilled and semi-skilled staff: upholsterers, finishers and CNC operators alongside assemblers and packers. Ask for machine types, output norms and any exposure to dust or solvents that affects medical checks. Practical tests work better than CVs
The Statistical Office in Zielona Góra publishes the Lubuskie rate monthly, and the Wojewódzki Urząd Pracy w Zielonej Górze publishes tables by county and municipality. Check the county of the actual workplace before planning a campaign, because local conditions differ widely.
The Okręgowy Inspektorat Pracy w Zielonej Górze, at ul. Dekoracyjna 8, covers Lubuskie and has a branch in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Workers can raise concerns about pay, working time or the legality of employment. Give workers the contact route from zielonagora.pip.gov.pl before departure.
It varies. Smaller towns may have limited rental housing, while a room in Zielona Góra may mean a long commute. Ask the employer who arranges accommodation, where it is, how much it costs, and whether they deduct anything.Get it in writing.
The Marshal’s Office names three: the Kostrzyńsko-Słubicka Special Economic Zone with more than a dozen subzones, and subzones of the Wałbrzych and Legnica zones. A subzone shows where investors may locate, not that any employer near Zielona Góra has an open order, so verify each employer separately.
Tell us about your agency, licensing, sourcing countries and the roles you fill best. We then discuss a written agreement setting out responsibilities. You can start by registering as a recruiter partner.
Roles and workplace towns covered, responsibility for advertising, interviews, tests and documents, GDPR roles, candidate briefing, arrival support and complaint handling. Commercial terms are matters to agree in the same written agreement, not on this page.
They must not be. Polish law prohibits employment agencies from charging people placed in work for the placement, apart from narrowly defined costs relating only to work abroad. Partners must also comply with their own country’s recruitment fee rules.
Look the agency up in KRAZ, the employment agency register on praca.gov.pl, and check its company entry in KRS. Placement and temporary work agencies in Poland must be registered, so if an intermediary is missing from KRAZ, end any discussion of a Lubuskie order.
Confirm that the employing entity is a Polish company or branch registered in KRS or CEIDG, and that all work takes place in Poland. A contract with a foreign entity or work across the border changes the legal position entirely.
A Lubuskie employer may use a declaration for citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova or Ukraine. Georgian citizens are not on the list, although declarations already registered for them remain valid until expiry. Each declaration covers up to 24 months, and the worker must begin within 6 months of registration.
The Lubuskie Voivode, or whichever voivode issued the permit. There is no start report for a permit, but within 7 days the employer must report a worker who does not start work within the period set by law, interrupts work for a long period, or ends it early. Partners should pass on withdrawals without delay.
No. Seasonal work permits apply only to listed agricultural and horticultural activities and a few accommodation and food-service activities. Production, assembly, furniture and warehouse jobs in Lubuskie need a work permit or another eligible route.
Visas for tourism, visits to family or friends, some education or training, medical treatment, temporary protection and other purposes do not allow work under a permit or declaration; the exception is an other-purposes visa issued to a Karta Polaka holder on that basis. Schengen visas from other states do not allow work in Poland. A Lubuskie candidate needs a work-allowing document first.
No, not during a visa-free stay, which excludes work for Colombian, Georgian and Venezuelan citizens. People from those countries already working legally before the restriction can continue on the same terms until the visa-free period ends. A Lubuskie employer can still hire them on a work permit, provided they hold a visa or residence permit that allows work.
The route applies to anyone with temporary protection in Poland, regardless of nationality, and, for three years under a transitional rule, to Ukrainian citizens living here legally without it. A Zielona Góra employer submits the notification to the county labour office on praca.gov.pl within 7 days of the first working day, not in advance. Before planning a long Lubuskie assignment, confirm on gov.pl when protection currently ends.
No. Citizens of EU and EEA states and Switzerland do not need a work permit for a job in Zielona Góra. A stay of more than three months requires registering residence with the voivodeship office. Their contract and social insurance follow ordinary Polish rules.
The temporary residence, permanent residence or EU long-term resident application is lodged online through MOS. A fingerprint summons follows, and for third-country nationals in Lubuskie it names the foreigners’ unit in Gorzów Wielkopolski, not the Zielona Góra branch, so follow each summons as written.
No. National visa appointments are booked through e-Konsulat under each consulate’s rules, and some consulates use queues or draws. Neither AtoZ Serwis Plus nor partners can promise a date or a decision. Read the consulate’s own page on gov.pl.
The national minimum wage is set annually by a Council of Ministers regulation from 1 January. Employment contracts have a monthly floor, and certain civil-law contracts have an hourly floor; both are published on gov.pl. A Lubuskie rate must also be at least what comparable employees earn.
No. The Statistical Office publishes an average wage for Lubuskie, but averages mix many occupations. Use theemployer’ss written gross rate for the specific role and show candidates an honest net estimate, including any agreed housing or transport deductions.
The Labour Code norm is 8 hours a day and an average of 40 hours a week over the settlement period. It is a norm, so overtime is possible but earns a supplement. For multi-shift plants around Zielona Góra, the job order and contract should show nights and weekends.
Only as the Labour Code allows, normally with the worker’s written consent and within legal limits. Explain the amount in writing before departure and show the expected net pay. A room should be presented as costless only when the employer has confirmed it in writing.
In writing, before work starts, and in a language the worker understands. The employer sends a Polish copy to praca.gov.pl before the first shift. Candidates should see a draft before travelling.
Start with a CV and contact details. Collect passport copies, certificates, and references after shortlisting, in a verified order. Agree GDPR roles and retention periods in writing and avoid sensitive data unless the law requires it.
No. Members of a management board, commercial proxies (prokurent) and partners who represent a limited partnership cannot be employed on a declaration. Such roles need another legal basis. A Zielona Góra plant cann stillhire operators or welders from the four eligible countries using this route.
A passport with the correct visa or residence document, work authorisation where needed, the signed contract or final draft, workplace and housing addresses, and a contact person’s details. A printed copy helps if mobile data doesn’t work on arrival.
Under a declaration, the employer reports through praca.gov.pl to the county labour office: the start of work within 7 days of its first day, a non-start within 14 days, and that the worker will not start or has ended work before the declared end date, which invalidates the entry. Partners should share arrival news quickly.
Early shifts in a small town with few buses can mean waiting in the dark and cold. Ask the employer whether it supplies winter clothing for unheated or outdoor areas and whether shift times change with the seasons, then tell candidates who have not worked through a Central European winter plainly before they accept.
Promises of work in Germany on Polish documents, fees for jobs or visa slots, job orders without a real workplace and earnings that rely on unlimited overtime. Halt sourcing and tell AtoZ Serwis Plus if any of these appear.
No. Eligibility depends on the legal route, the role and the employer’s requirements for each order. Some routes apply only to specific countries. Partners should confirm eligibility per order before approaching candidates.
A driver for a Lubuskie carrier needs initial qualification and periodic training, evidenced by Code 95 or a driver qualification card. On international routes for an EU carrier, a non-EU driver also requires a driver attestation. Exchange of a foreign licence depends on the issuing country, so the licensing office should confirm it first.
Our recruiter information for the whole country is on our Poland recruiter page, which explains our approach to cooperation. For legal rules, Zielona Linia and praca.gov.pl are maintained by public authorities and updated when the law changes.
