Czechia Obliges Arrivals From Bulgaria, France, Italy, Slovenia and Andorra to Test and Quarantine
The Czech Republic Ministry of Health has announced that based on the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) data, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Slovenia, and Andorra have been added to the dark red category today, on Monday, March 29.
According to the new change in measures, apart from the countries added on the dark red list, Slovakia and Madeira will move to the red list.
Previously, the Czech Republic added Cyprus and Poland, as well as Greece, Latvia, Andorra, and Spain, Portugal, and Madeira, to the list of countries with a high risk of COVID-19.
While announcing the new measures, the Czech Republic Ministry of Health noted that all persons returning to Czechia from the dark red category of countries must fill in the Arrival Form and submit the PCR test result before entering the country.
“For the PCR test, the maximum age is 72 hours before the start of the journey. Subsequently, it is mandatory to undergo a second PCR test in the Czech Republic, but not before the 5th day after entry. Self-isolation is required until a second negative test is submitted,” the press release reads.
Apart from Slovakia and Madeira that has been recently added to the red list, the group already includes Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Monaco, Norway, Croatia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and the Canary Islands.
All persons returning from one of the countries placed on the red category are obliged to submit the PCR or antigen test result and fill in the Arrival Form. The antigen test cannot be older than 24 hours, and the PCR test cannot be older than 72 hours.
In addition, after the fifth day of entry in the Czech Republic, each passenger must undergo a PCR test and stay self-isolated until the test results are received, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports. If the results of the test are negative, the traveler may leave self-isolation.
Similarly, all persons returning to the Czech Republic from a country listed on the orange category are required to undergo the same measures as those returning from countries listed on the dark red and red category. The orange category includes Ireland, Portugal, Azores, and the Balearic Islands.
Employees and students are required to present a test result to the employer or their school if they are returning from any country that is part of the dark red, red, or orange category.
For preventative measures, all persons must wear a medical protective mask for fourteen days when away from home.
Except for the three mentioned categories, persons returning from a country listed in the green category do not have to apply any recommendations. The green category currently includes Iceland, the Vatican City State, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand.
