Czechia Permits Travellers From Austria and Hungary to Enter Restriction-Free
Authorities in the Czech Republic have transferred Austria and Hungary to their orange COVID-19 registry, allowing citizens of these countries to travel without any restrictions, the Czech Ministry of Health has reported.
The Ministry’s decision that took effect on January 25 has been taken following the data published by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
Czechia’s orange list also includes Bulgaria, Belgium, Finland, Luxembourg, Iceland, Greece, Norway and the Canary Islands.
All internationals who work or pursue their studies in the Czech Republic must show a negative result of the Coronavirus test, before entering their workplace or the educational institution, where they are following their studies, after returning from these countries.
“Most European countries are still in the red category. Travellers who have spent more than 12 hours in these countries in the past 14 days are obliged to complete an arrival form before returning to the Czech Republic,” the statement clarifies.
According to the statement, within five days after entering Czechia, these persons must take a Coronavirus test. The result should be submitted to the regional public health authorities, within seven days from their arrival.
“After returning, they may also submit the result of a PCR test from any other EU country, which is no more than 72 hours old. This obligation does not apply to persons under five years of age,” Ministry’s statement reads
Persons must limit their contact with other persons as much as possible, until the result of the Coronavirus test is known.
A total of 946,946 persons have contracted the Coronavirus disease in the Czech Republic, since the beginning of the pandemic, while 15,618 persons have died. According to the figures published by Worldometers, over 831,390 persons have recovered from the deadly virus, while there are still 99,934 active cases.
Even amid the ongoing Coronavirus situation, back in December, Czechia’s government announced that all Czech consulates in other countries would reopen, except for those in Azerbaijan, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Baku.
Czechia’s Ministry of the Interior imposed its new entry rules, amid the second wave of the Coronavirus disease. In November, the country’s authorities announced that they would impose new rules in a bid to stop the further spread of the disease.
