Estonia, Netherlands and Spain Continue to Keep Entry Rules in Place for Third Country Travellers Despite Lifting Them for EU Nationals
While the majority of EU/EEA countries have already dropped all of their entry rules for all travellers, the three above-mentioned countries still require third-country travellers to present COVID proof upon their arrival, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
Currently, Estonia requires all travellers from third countries to present a valid vaccination, recovery, or test certificate.
A vaccination certificate is recognised when reaching Estonia only if the document proves that the holder completed primary vaccination in the last 270 days or received a booster shot in the last 12 months.
On the other hand, a recovery pass is considered valid if it proves that the holder recovered from the virus in the last 180 days.
The Estonian official tourist information website, Visit Estonia, explains that those who are unable to present one of the required documents are obliged to stay self-isolated for a period of seven days when entering Estonia.
“Coming from third countries: present a vaccination or recovery certificate or a negative test result. Otherwise, it is mandatory to stay in isolation for seven days. No restrictions to anybody apply in the case of transit, i.e., passing through the territory of the Republic of Estonia,” the statement of the Estonian authorities reads.
Just like Estonia, the Netherlands also continues to keep in place COVID-19 entry rules only for travellers from third countries.
The Dutch government explains that only travellers from third countries who hold a valid vaccination or recovery certificate are permitted entry to the Netherlands. Those who are unable to present a vaccination or recovery certificate are currently subject to an entry ban.
The Netherlands applies the same validity rules on the COVID vaccination and recovery passes as the majority of other EU/Schengen Area countries.
Similarly, Spain has not dropped its entry rules for third-country travellers yet. The Spanish Ministry of Health notes that all third country travellers continue to be required to present a valid vaccination, recovery, or test certificate upon their arrival.
Finland also keeps restrictions in place for non-EU travellers. The country has just recently extended its current entry rules until June 30.`
