Portugal continues to be one of the most popular destinations. Data from the travel intelligence platform, Mabrian, show that Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, was ranked as the sixth best value-for-money European tourist destination. Such a ranking was made based on air connectivity, average hotel prices, and visitor satisfaction levels.
Lisbon is followed by Madrid and Milan, placed in seventh and eighth place respectively. On the other hand, Zagreb, Athens, and Ljubljana top the list. The capitals of Croatia, Greece, and Slovenia were chosen as the best value-for-money tourist destinations in Europe.
It is believed that Portugal continues to register positive trends as the country lifted its COVID entry rules. Portugal dropped its entry rules in July, meaning that since then, all persons, even those without a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate, have been permitted restriction-free entry to the country.
Nonetheless, the authorities decided to extend the mask rule until the end of August. In line with the current rules, all persons must wear a face mask when accessing public transport.
