

Poland Granted 60,125 Temporary Protection Statuses to Ukrainian Refugees in June This Year
According to the Eurostat data, Poland was followed by Romania with 10,360 temporary protections granted, Ireland with 6,985 and Bulgaria with 6,920, AtoZSerwisPlus.comreports.
“While the overwhelming majority of persons receiving temporary protection were Ukrainians, there were also citizens of other countries who received such status in the EU Member States, e.g. 405 Russians in Poland and 2,400 Nigerians and 410 Moroccans in Portugal,” the report reads.
Comparing this data with May 2022, the number of Ukrainians receiving temporary protection fell in all 19 EU Member States, available data show. As a result, the biggest decreases were observed in Poland with -35,960 people compared to May 2022, followed by Lithuania with -13,405, Bulgaria with -12,945 and Romania with -10,075.
According to Eurostat, by June 30, 2022, Poland had a total of 1.2 million Ukrainians benefiting from temporary protection.
In addition, Bulgaria, which counted 118,810 Ukrainian beneficiaries, France 64,970, Lithuania 48,960, Belgium 47,945 and Romania 43,550 were ranked as the other Member States with the highest total number of Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection.
Furthermore, Eurostat showed that concerning the population of each Member States, the ratio of temporary protections granted per thousand inhabitants was low. On the other hand, the highest ratio of Ukrainian citizens granted temporary protection in June 2022 was recorded in Poland with 1.6 granted temporary protection per thousand inhabitants, followed by Latvia with 1.5, Ireland with 1.4 and Lithuania with 1.3.
Poland Leads the Table for Most PRotections Issued to Minors Too
Regarding the granting of temporary protection for children, Poland granted the largest number with a total of 15,445, equivalent to 26 per cent of Ukrainians granted protection in Poland in June 2022, followed by Romania with 3,815 or 37 per cent and Bulgaria with 1,790 or 26 per cent.
Based on June 2022 data, children under the age of 14 represented more than 70 per cent of all children who were granted temporary protection.
Moreover, most Ukrainians who were granted temporary protection were women, including girls. The largest number of women who received temporary protection were reported in Poland with 41,675, or 69 per cent of Ukrainians protected in Poland in June, Romania with 6,400, or 62 per cent, and Bulgaria with 4,255, or 61 per cent.
As for the Ukrainian boys, up to the age of 18, they represented about half of the requests for temporary protection granted in Slovenia with 57 per cent, Romania with 50 per cent, Malta and Denmark both 49 per cent. While in Latvia with 26 per cent and Portugal with 28 per cent represented about a quarter of requests.
