Slovenia Expands Quarantine-Free Entry for Persons Vaccinated With Chinese and Indian Vaccines
The Slovenian authorities have decided to expand the list of exemptions from entry restrictions and allow persons vaccinated with the Chinese and Indian vaccines to enter the country without being subject to quarantine restrictions.
The new order became effective on April 25, and some new rules started to apply on Monday, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
“Certain restrictions apply for crossing the state borders, and these depend on the country from which you are arriving in Slovenia,” the Government’s statement reads.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior of Slovenia, it was explained that under the new rules, all persons who present a negative PCR test, not older than 48 hours, which was carried out in a European Union Member State, a Schengen Area country, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Northern Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Israel, and Russia will be allowed to enter Slovenia without being subject to quarantine restrictions.
Furthermore, restriction-free entry is allowed to travellers who have recovered from COVID-19 and who present a positive test result which must be at least ten days old but not older than six months, or a certificate of recovery not older than six months since the beginning of the symptoms.
Additionally, all persons are allowed entry without quarantine restriction if they provide a vaccination certificate proving one of the following statements:
- At least seven days have passed since the second dose of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine was taken
- At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of the Moderna vaccine was taken
- At least 21 days have passed since the first dose of the Vaxzevria vaccine by AstraZeneca was taken
- At least 14 have passed since the Janssen COVID-19 by Johnson & Johnson/Janssen-Cilag was taken
- At least 21 days have passed since the first dose of the Covishield vaccine by Serum Institute of India/AstraZeneca was taken
- At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of the Sputnik V vaccine by the National Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Russia was taken
- At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of the CoronaVac vaccine by Sinovac Biotech was taken
- At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine by Sinopharm was taken.
The Ministry revealed that all persons returning from business trips abroad who present a negative PCR test not older than three days would no longer be required to take the test upon entry in Slovenia. The new measure also applies to police force members, state bodies, and accredited journalists.
In addition to that, those crossing the border in order to help with work maintenance on the real estate sector will have three days to return to the country.
Quarantine-free entry to the territory of Slovenia is also allowed to citizens of EU or Schengen Area countries who have stayed in the countries to provide assistance to family members or other persons in need, provided that they present a negative test result taken within the last three days.
Earlier this month, the Slovenian Ministry of Interior announced that all measures imposed on traffic at the border would continue to remain effective due to the COVID-19 situation.
