Italy: Ukrainians Eligible for Job Vacancies and Unemployment Aids of €1,000
The help is offered by the Italian agency Assolavoro as well as the trade unions Nidil Cgil, Felsa Cisl, and Uiltemp, and aims at supporting holders of residence permits for international protection in Italy, including those with refugee status and subsidiary protection, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
Those with temporary or special protection, as well as those that are holders of a similar document issued by the Questura – indicating the holder is waiting for the issuance of another protection permit, are also eligible for the aid.
More specifically, Ukrainians coming to Italy can get free assistance from informational meetings, which will inform about the labour market and available jobs in the country, as well as assessments of their skills regarding educational courses.
Basic Italian courses, where the course participants will receive food and accommodation costs compensation, are also eligible for a daily hourly rate of €3.50 per hour, while at the end of the training course, members are paid one-time assistance of €1,000.
Vocational training courses are also open for Ukrainian nationals, where similar financial assistance as other courses will be offered if the member hasn’t received the aid after completing the basic Italian course.
“Ukrainians who are taking a vocational training course or have found a job through the employment service are entitled to access some absolutely free social services. Services are provided through the intermediary body Ebitemp,” a press release by Visit Ukraine explains.
Furthermore, social assistance aid is also available for Ukrainians, where the monthly kindergarten fee, preferably up to €150, is paid for children under three years old. In addition, the purchase of goods necessary for the care of a child under three years old, up to €800, is available. Moreover, psychological assistance of €200 is offered to such persons or members of their families.
Books and educational materials for children and students, with payments of €200 each, is also available, while university students will be eligible to receive €200 aid for paying their study fees. Student trainees of the first and third levels are also considered valid for receiving a €200 aid.
According to an article by BBC, as of July 4, there are about 141,562 Ukrainians recorded in Italy, while countries with the most numbers include Poland (1.1 million), Moldova (82,700), and Romania (83.321).
