Turkish Nationals Can Now Submit Schengen Visa Applications in Adana
The news was announced by the Adana Chamber of Commerce President, Yücel Bayram, who said that such a thing has been made possible due to hard work, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
Since the responsible authorities have been making initiatives for some time now to open a Schengen visa application centre in the city of Adana, Bayram welcomed the opening of the new centre and stressed that this will benefit everyone.
“The Schengen Visa Application Centre, which we have been working on for a long time, has been opened in Adana. Visa applications, which cause loss of work and time for our business people to travel to Europe, can now be made from our city,” the statement of Bayram reads.
It is believed that the decision to open a new Schengen visa application centre was taken in order to make the process more convenient for everyone. If before the visa application centre opened in Adana applicants had to travel to another city in order to apply for the visa, now they will be able to do it in Adana, saving time as well as money.
A Schengen visa is a short-term visa which permits its holder to travel to the Member States of the EU for up to 90 days for tourism as well as business purposes.
Not all non-EU nationals are required to apply for a Schengen visa before reaching the EU. However, since Türkiye has not yet reached a visa liberalisation agreement, its nationals continue to be required to apply for a Schengen visa.
